Love and gratitude
The clasp that holds the chain
Without one or the other we all fall to the ground

With a joyful heart, I am thankful
For a child, who in the black opals of his eyes I see glory
A house that may not be majestic but it is warm
because the people inside have the attitude of forgiveness

I acknowledge the lives of Lennon, Cobain and Gaye
They provide the grace of deliverance
Bless the voice, the ears, the feet, the hands and the mind for music

Appreciation and respect
A fire cannot burn without a light to spark it
So all are accepted in an incandescent life
With a joyful heart, I am thankful for the above

Love,

m.

Revisited poem....

GIRL ON THE BOAT

To the girl on the yacht
Seeped in cocoa butter
Surrounded by the still waters of desire
Look into the reflection
To see your future
Picking up broken dishes after the candlelight dinner
Can her lover be devoted
Does she know the truth
Here comes a faithful hand
Does it belong to
a future leader
a future foe

All one can see is themselves
and that's the hardest thing to know

Maybe

The same but different
I see two worlds
When there should be one
Where laws rule the people
And the people rule the law
If there is hope
There will be a brighter future
One without fear
Of letting our children go out to play
No one is bulletproof
And no one is beyond harm
When cooler heads prevail
Maybe we can talk about
Why some get so angry
Why fear leads to hate
If there is a method to the madness
Only then will I love the insanity

Casually Numb

As heat is lost
this will all soon be frozen
Stiff as a photograph that made the past real
The tranquil ocean will have concrete tides
Bodies forever fixated on vacant screens
With life petrified, let me be forever in a passionate embrace
perspiring salty icicles
All will become wind with no motion
Only the present is real
Numb to my oblivion

Fit

I am not my size
A number on the scale
The parusuco's that can no longer be buttoned
The Nine West boot which doesn't fit on my calf
Victoria's secret was another surgery
No wonder the cheap lingerie did not adjust
My body is a river of rainbows
with gold in my mind
Vibrant colours of my soul run underneath
Diets drown in the tide of my lucidity
The calories mounted and crushed by my swollen liquid figure
I will not pause to wait for no weight to live
Not a gluttonous sinner
Just don't need that kind of pride - also a sin
To love myself
and french fries

Prayers for People

If there is another earth
Do climate, geography and u.v rays dictate
who they love
Abiding by the invisible grace and neglecting visible suffering
To count currency and squander hope in change
Have they also just continued to evolve technologically
while finding new disorders mentally
Take me to this other earth
And let me warn them
about us

I tried to go a day without spending money
But the baby needed diapers and the coffee needed cream
I tried to go a day without sugar
But the toast needed jam
I tried to go a day without swearing
But that jerk cut me off
I tried to go a day without being tired
But the baby cried all night
I tried to go a day without watching t.v
But the playoff game was on
I tried to go a day without feeling fat
But didn't feel like exercising
I tried to go a day without smoking
But my parents are stressing me out
I tried to go a day without feeling down
But that bill arrived early
But none of that mattered
Because today I listened to music
I can listen to it on the radio for free
It does not cause diabetes
It can curse for me
It either helps me fall asleep or wakes me up
I can watch the videos because that's an expression of art ( so I don't feel guilty )
If you dance you are exercising
It gets rid of stress and makes you happy
Unless it is a sad song that makes you cry
But in a good way

Love,

m.

Skyfall

A galaxy of ivory stars lies behind the decaying walls
Erected by the deceivers
But one day you climbed above the stones to a great height
Reaching out to touch the brilliant hidden twilight and place it on your shoulders as a babe watching a parade
To erase the gloom for a moment
And glow because of the sweet skyfall
