My Sea

The sea calls me like a foe before a fight
All that water with somewhere to go, the journey is my plight
I will wrestle with the waves when taken by the sirens
Transfixed by the twilight stars that shine like endless diamonds

Captured by their beauty like the mistress that cries for me on land
I kiss the cross she gave to me, I hold it in my hand
The sea that gives us life will surely be my death
May I come upon a peaceful sea before drawing my last breath

If carried overboard may I fall to the ocean floor
To be eaten by the same creatures, I had devoured on the shore
Never had the will to stay on land for very long
Only when I sail the sea, I can do no wrong
