Oh Sweet Sugar

I held the moon as I danced with the wolves
Then chased the sleep that had gotten away
Woke to a decalescent winter sun
Is there coffee?
Must make the appointment on time, so I can sit and wait
With the others who forgo lessons for fun
Now we must listen because it has become too late
And I must pay attention to them debate whether, a fruit must be blended or juiced
or eaten whole for full nutrition
But I cannot eat the sweet anymore
Too much sugar
It's in the genes
Something gotten that cannot be given away
What, no chocolate?
My substitute for sex
No flour
Only the one in the garden for me
It has come to an end
Carbs was a devious friend
Time to exercise the demon away
Before my blood turns to clay
